Free QR Code Generator (No Sign-Up, No Expiry)

Make a QR code for a link, WiFi network, WhatsApp, text, email, phone or contact card. Download as PNG or SVG. Free forever, no watermark.

Static QR code: the data is stored inside the code itself, so it never expires and works without our website. Generated in your browser; nothing is uploaded.

Quick answer: To create a free QR code, choose the type (link, WiFi, WhatsApp and more), type your details, then click Download PNG or SVG. The code updates live, has no watermark, needs no account and never expires.

How to make a QR code for free

  1. Pick what the QR code should open: a website, a WiFi login, a WhatsApp chat, plain text, an email, a phone call, an SMS or a contact card.
  2. Fill in the fields. The preview updates as you type.
  3. Optionally change the size, colors, margin and error correction, or add a short label such as “Scan for menu”.
  4. Scan the preview with your phone camera to test it, then download PNG for documents and social media, or SVG for printing and signs.

How do I create a WiFi QR code for guests?

Open the WiFi tab, type the network name exactly as it appears on your router (it is case-sensitive), enter the password and choose the security type (almost all home routers use WPA/WPA2). Print the code and place it in your living room, office reception, cafe or Airbnb. Guests point their camera at it and tap Join network; they never need to see or type the password. Your WiFi details are not sent anywhere: the code is created on your own device.

Do these QR codes expire?

No. Many “free” QR sites make dynamic codes that point to their own short link and stop working when a trial ends. This tool makes static QR codes: your link or text is written directly into the pattern, so the code keeps working forever, even if this website disappears. The only trade-off is that you cannot change the destination after printing, so double-check the link first.

Which size, format and error correction should I use?

UseRecommended
Business card, flyerSVG or PNG 1024 px, printed at least 2 × 2 cm
Restaurant table, posterSVG, printed 3–5 cm or larger
Website, WhatsApp, InstagramPNG 512 px
Outdoor sign or code with a logo sticker on topError correction High (30%)

A simple rule: the scanning distance should be no more than about ten times the width of the code. Keep strong contrast (dark code on light background) and leave the quiet zone around it, otherwise some phones will not read it.

Frequently asked questions

Is this QR code generator really free?

Yes. It is 100% free with no sign-up, no watermark, no scan limit and no expiry date.

Do the QR codes expire?

No. They are static QR codes, so the information is stored in the code itself and works forever.

Can I use the QR code for commercial purposes?

Yes. You can print the codes on packaging, menus, flyers and products without any attribution.

Can I change the link after printing?

No. Static QR codes cannot be edited after they are made. If you need to change the destination later, point the code to a page on your own website that you can update.

Why is my QR code not scanning?

Usually the code is too small, the colors have too little contrast, the margin was cropped, or the link has a typo. Try a larger size, black on white, and the standard quiet zone.

Is my WiFi password safe?

The code is generated in your browser and nothing is uploaded. Anyone who scans the printed code can join your network, so place it only where you want guests to connect.

What is the difference between PNG and SVG?

PNG is a normal image for screens and documents. SVG is a vector file that stays perfectly sharp at any size, which is best for professional printing.
